ESL is a community support program for international adults who want to learn the English language and American culture in a Christian environment. Students come from many different countries and speak many different languages. Students come with many skill levels, from beginner to advanced and cover a wide range of ages. ESL teaches the English language, American culture and Christian belief. The program is designed for all levels of learning.
The goal of our program is for each of you to learn or improve your knowledge of English and be able to communicate and flourish in this country. We also offer you our support and friendship in a Christian environment. Our teachers have experience as teachers, some of them are certified by ESL and their first language is English. All of our teachers desire to help you to learn English as well as help you to transition into our culture.
Where and when are ESL classes taught?
ESL classes are offered on Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Crossroads. Classes are divided into 6 skill levels and study from beginner to conversation. In addition to teaching English, fellowship and Christian devotion are encouraged.
All those who serve in this program are volunteers and have the desire to help you become an active member of this country. If you wish to serve in our ESL, opportunities include being a class assistant or part of the general team. Some training is provided according to the need.
