NEXT STEPS

Date: October 29

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: Connection Center

Next Steps is a quarterly luncheon that provides a great opportunity to meet some of our key leaders as well as hear the mission and vision of who we are, what we believe, and most importantly, how you can be fully engaged at Crossroads. It’s also the first step for those pursuing a membership relationship with Crossroads, but you are NOT obligated to become a member after attending. This can simply be a great place to start if you’re beginning to consider Crossroads your church home.

We’ll provide a separate lunch and programming for 5th grade and younger, but older kids are welcome to join us too. We can’t wait to connect with you and share how you can be a part of Crossroads.

BAPTISM

To be a member of the Crossroads family you need to be baptized. Biblical baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. Baptism is a testimony to his/her faith in the final resurrection of the dead. It does not save you; it paints a picture of what does save you and becomes your first testimony and opportunity to obey Christ. Infant baptism is a meaningful choice of many parents, but it is their choice and not the choice of the infant. We believe that baptism should be the choice of the one being baptized and should be by immersion in water.

Jesus was baptized by immersion. “At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.” Mark 1 9-10

Early Christians were baptized after belief. “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” Acts 2 41

Baptism is a clear opportunity for obedience and testimony. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20
